The Hotel Congress in downtown Tucson, Arizona. John Dillinger holed up from the law here and was almost caught when the floor he was staying on caught fire and the firemen found his guns. The 2nd pic shows the lobby that still looks just as it did in the 1930's.

One of the most gorgeous campgrounds I know of: City of Rocks, which is in Southern Idaho, almost at the Utah border. If you're into sagebrush, cactus, and cool rock formations, this place is really hard to beat.

The world's largest freestanding wooden structure: a 1942 blimp hanger (now plane museum) in Tillamook, OR. The car can barely be seen beside a camper. Tillamook is nearby some of the coolest tidepools in the state - like this one.

The Columbia River Gorge, located only 15 minutes east of Portland. The waterfalls, scenic highway, hiking, and wind surfing bring people here from all over the world. The photo on the right was taken in Washington, while the other pic is from the Vista House on the Oregon side of the river.

Reno, Nevada, "The Biggest Little City in the World". This is the historic banner that welcomes people into downtown. Second pic shows some of the amazing National Automobile Museum's collection, including a 300SL Gullwing, James Dean's '49 Mercury, Barret customs, dream cars, a Tucker...it's worth the trip!
The Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. This space-age tower was built for the 1962 World's Fair and features a monorail that travels a few blocks to downtown and back.
