Lada in the USA

This page is about one of my toys - 1976 Lada 1300 Sedan. I personally imported this car from Germany in 2001. Since I got it, it received a pretty good cosmetic restoration. I entered it in several car shows, and it took a trophy every time :-) Here's a couple of pics from one of the shows.

This winter project is to build a nice hi-performance engine for it so that I can show all the rice boys what my vodka-mobile can do! Here's a couple of pics of my stock engine.

2009 UPDATE!

The car now has a nicely tuned 1700cc engine with oversized custom valves and a Weber 32/36DGV carb along with new rims and tires - it now goes and handles so much better than stock! (I still have all stock parts in case I ever want to put it back to the original state). Here's what it looks like now:
