I picked this truck up last fall for about 5 grand and couldn't believe how clean it was. i'm looking to make a trail truck out of it.

i've only dumped about 300 bucks into it so far on a GT Grant steering wheel and K & N Maxflow 14x3 air cleaner. other than that it's stock. plan on re-arcing the springs and mounting 33 inch pro comps before winter along with a 670cfm 4-barrel Holley Truck Avenger offroad carb. Got MSD offroad ignition bought used from a friend waiting to go in as well with a set of Bosch Platinum +4 plugs. can't get over that stock 3 speed trans though, no OD really ruins your day. nothing like 7 miles to the gallon in the city:-) I'd like some suggestions from anyone who's ever removed the A/C from this vehicle. i've removed every hose and have yet to remove the compressor. i realize that i will have to fabricate a way to lower the alternator to allow the belt to clear the water pump. any suggestions on making this more painless would be welcome.

Well about the tires...I'm going with 35 at the least. My bumpers are gonna be pushen the limits here. Cops don't pull girls over, cause they are scared! Ha ha. I don't really care how they handle, I'm used to driveing my pop's old J-10 and it had big 35's ballooned out on 12 inch wide wheels and they were terrible tires that were very bald and they weren't balanced. The truck if ya let go of the wheel it ran way or the other. We got to test the BFG's at NEUROC and they were wonderful tires. (I go to Paragon & have been to Moab & places in Utah & Colorado) I love Swampers though. I like that goofy hum on the road that they do. I like to be heard before I can be seen. Hence the fact I got niosey pipes. I like BFG Muds too but they don't come like I want them. I'm going with 35 x 14.50 or darn close. I can acctually get Krawlers cheeper that swampers here at work. But those are like 35 x 13.50 or 12.50. I forget. Hey you can find Ram heads easy. JC Whitney, Keystone, and local car swapmeets. (Here in PA we have Carlisle Shows during the year.) I got a new one the's very shiny at Carlisle. (Sorry keepen the old one for good luck) You get these goofy gold ones if ya wanna pimp it. But other wise they look bad. I have a lift for it I just want to get tires & wheels soon so when it warms back up I can put it in the barn & lift it. But till then I will drive around in my little puny truck! (Never done that before! I like 'em lifted! Hate little cars too. Unless it's a good old muscle car!) Anywho, have fun in your Ram!
