i bought my car in Aug '99 for �1200, it was in 100% original state, but not for long!! All that you see was done by myself, all except for the respray(which i did the prep work) and the roof!! By the way, i'm not a mechanic!!

For those wondering about the spec :-
Body - '87 gti cabrio, original vw mars red(although it looks orange in most pics!!) semi smoothed sides, smooth tailgate, crystal M3 rear lights, corrado front lights, homemade extended and debadged corrado grille, original mk2 golf big bumpers, no. plate recess and indicators removed, indicators now where the foglights were.
Engine - 90 spec golf g60 engine, 68mm pulley, Oettinger chip, Stroeve induction, Ashley competition 4 branch manifold into magnex s/s system, unknown other mods(receipts in german!!)POWER: in excess of 200 bhp, but not had it on the rollers yet! g60 cable change box with homemade hydraulic clutch, on polyeurethane mounts.
Brakes - g60 280mm drilled front discs, pagid fast road pads, g60 rear discs, drilled, goodridge s/s hoses, 16v 22.2mm master cylinder and servo, all metal brake lines replaced
Suspension - supersport coilovers set to low but comfortable, i could lower the car a further 2"!!
Wheels&tyres - bk eclipse 16x7" hand polished with goodyear eagle f1 205/45/16 rear and 195/45/16 fronts
Interior - g60 electric recaros with rear bench retrimmed in same cloth, homemade clocks(g60) and dash panels, vento steering wheel, g60 switches(stalks)

I hope you like my car!! By the way, it is driven regularly and hard!! it just takes me at least 12 hours to get it back up to scratch for shows!!!

That is sick my son! The engine bay looks amazing! I do have a question for you....where did you stick the intercooler? I currently have a Rocco with a G60 in it and that was hard enough getting the cooler into. But I just picked up an 86 Cabby and I'm thinking of swapping the G60 into her and going 16v Turbo w/syncro on the Roc. 5 Stars all the Way!
