1985 Toyota Celica GT hatchback

patywgn's 1998 Toyota 4Runner

this page is all about my second car, which was exactly like my first car only in a hatchback! i liked the old one so much that i got the same thing cuz i missed my old one.

i tried so hard to make this car look cool but i didn't have the money or time to invest. i wanted a GTS celica or a supra so i started converting it piece by piece into a Supra/Celica/GTS hybrid but i ran out of $$ and that was that.

things i did to it were:
-fender flares from an '85 supra
-various celica/supra emblems and badging
-replaced stock hatch with an '85 supra hatch and wing.
-tried to repair the rust and re-paint with a two tone paint job myself, but it didn't go over well.
-i had a sunshade from an '82 supra on the original hatch but that came off when i got the '85 hatch on there.
-i restored a set of stock supra rims to put on this car but never did cuz i didn't have money for the tires, such a shame cuz they look awesome.

here's a shot of my car when i first bought it, 100% stock.

I bought my '91 White Lumina in April of 2002 and kept my celica around for a driver a couple days a week. i still really liked it, but i had a nicer car that didn't fog up when it rained or snowed, or leaked inside from rusted out panels, or refused to move on ice and snow thanks to rear wheel drive. i hate to say it, but the Lumina was more reliable and i enjoyed driving it more.

in the summer of 2003, i sold it to a co-worker who always loved my celica. about a year later, he noticed that there was a coolant leak that i traced back to the head gasket. last i heard he was going to fix the engine up and keep driving it, but that was last year (2005) and i haven't seen or heard about it since. sometimes not knowing is better.

Thanks for the info man, really appreciate it. Now I'll try to get that grill & headlight combo A.S.A.P. Thanks again!

Nice ride man. Really like the 2oo2 headlight & grill conversion. Let me now if that just bolted because I was thinking of doing the same on my 98 4Runner.
