this page is all about my first car, my 1985 Toyota Celica GT coupe.

yea, that's me in a tux for my junior prom, sorry this is the best pic i have of the car!

it was a great car with a few minor problems. the biggest problem was that it never had ANY heat so i drove it FOUR (4) winters in Iowa without heat! in highschool i took a friend to the "Christmas Dance" and all she can ever remember about it is that "it was sooooooo cold!"

it didn't have A/C either. so i like to say that it had A/C in the winter and heat in the summer.

In May of 1998 i was coming home and it overheated, let it cool off and got it home. changed the thermostat and my coolant and drove it the next day, it overheated again. got it home and checked the oil to find that it looked like chocolate milk! yup, the oil and coolant were mixing. i then decided to rebuild my engine, and over the next few months (summer project) i stripped it down to the block and rebuilt it. before this undertaking, i had only changed my oil. i had no idea what i was doing but luckily my dad helped me every step of the way, thanks pops!

unfortunately, when i got it all back together it was still mixing the fluids. i thought it was the head gasket, but i'm thinking it might have been something to do with the timing chain and all that jazz. reason being, my next car, an '85 celica gt hatchback, had the timing chain go out on it and it overheated and mixed the fluids as well as caused my car to completely die as i was going about 70 down the interstate one afternoon, FUN!

so, the coupe was toast, i had a new celica and i stripped any good parts i could from it for my new celica. it was a sad day when the tow truck came and hauled it away to the junk yard. they wasted no time crushing it, it was destroyed within a few days.

Nice ride man. Really like the 2oo2 headlight & grill conversion. Let me now if that just bolted because I was thinking of doing the same on my 98 4Runner.
