THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED OFTEN WITH PICTURES OF MY STEREO INSTALL.

I DECIDED TO DO IT MYSELF AFTER TWO STEREO SHOPS HERE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EITHER TRADED ME MY WORK FOR THEIRS OR WORK PURCHASED FROM THEM THAT LEFT ME EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE SOUND QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP.

IF YOU LIVE IN N. COUNTY SAN DIEGO OR ORANGE COUNTY AND ARE GOING TO HAVE STEREO WORK DONE FEEL FREE TO ASK ME WHO NOT TO GO TO FOR YOUR INSTALLATION WORK.

I INSTALLED AND SOLD CAR AUDIO FOR 3 YEARS AT TWO WELL KNOWN SHOPS 15 YEARS AGO AND WE WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE AS POOR A JOB IN A YUGO AS THESE SO CALLED GREAT CAR AUDIO SHOPS DID IN MY CAR.

THE MOST SAD THING ABOUT IT ALL IS THE FACT THAT THE SHOPS I HAD THE WORK DONE AT WE'RE ACTUALLY RECCOMENDED TO ME BY EITHER DIAMOND AUDIO OR JL AUDIO REPS.

HOWEVER TO DIAMOND AND JL'S CREDIT THEY BOTH APOLOGIZED LATER FOR THEIR RETAILERS LACK OF EFFORT, POOR AND EVEN WRONG INSTAL METHODS AND OUT RIGHT DISHONESTY.

I began with a computer engineered design made from 3/4" MDF configured as a 4th Order Band Pass Enclosure with a retangular port that begins internally and extends to reach the M3's Ski Pass Opening flush.

This is the port matched to fit the BMW ski pass and will become a window to view the subs in action when complete

The Sub enclosure houses 2 JL Audio 2ohm 10W3 Dual Voicecoil Woofers.

They are mounted on the baffle board that seperates the sealed and open chambers of the box and fire back into the sealed chamber allowing the magnets to be seen thru the port

Test placement of the enclosure for the first time shows a perfect fit and as designed

View from inside the car shows the port bearing the magnets of the JL's inside the box

All Midrange and Tweeter components are passively crossed over with the units mounted along the trunks driver side wall and away from any power wires.

Passive crossovers, speakers and components all measured to use a generous amount of wire by monster cable.

A Precision Power Inc. PAR-245 5 Band Parametric Pre-Amp is mounted to the roof of the trunk and was set using an RTA and a Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs  Gold IASCA Car Audio Test Disc to further fine tune the acceptable range as desired from each of the speakers and has been set to accurately designate which speakers receive what frequencies based on their ability to reproduce Mid bass, Mid highs, and highs.

With Diamond Audio Hex S600s component speaker sets mounted in both the front and rear of the car the sound is very well balanced and the staging no matter what type of music is being played from Slayer to John Digweef is epic to say the least.
