Stereo Upgrades

Head Unit

I decided to install the Pioneer DEH-P8450MP.
With the features of the new Pioneer, I did not have to install any other form of EQ or DSP, as it gives you a lot of control.

As you can see, I have also had some switches & a blue LED to indicate when each switch is on. The switches control the neon's in the trunk & also the cooling fans for the amps. These switches have now been temporarily relocated to the glove box so that I could fit my first 7" LCD screen. Here is what it looks like now.

Front

Quite simply Boston Pro Splits. 6 mid with tweeter. I have tried my best to conceal all equipment, so the only visible after market stuff are the Tweeters. (Excluding my deck & LCD screen in the dash).

Rear (Trunk - Boot)

This was a custom install, painstakingly created by myself & one of my mates. He did most of the work, so I was just supervising. The install took a couple of weeks to finish, but overall its worth it.

Components are : -

2 x 12 Alpine Type R Subwoofers installed in custom box
1 x Schneider Capacitor 1.0 Farad
1 x Rockford Fosgate 800.2 Amplifier (Powers the 2 Alpines)
1 x Rockford Fosgate 400 Gold series 4 channel Amplifier (2 Channels power front splits & other 2 are on reserve for the 7x10 or next set of splits which will be installed in the passenger doors or rear parcel tray.
1 x Rockford Fosgate Punch 100 IX2 (Powers the rear parcel tray)
1 xAXIS DVD/CD/MP3 Player mounted in the battery box

There are also 2 fans located between the 3 Amplifiers. The fans are set up so the first fan draws down the cool air in the trunk & passes it across the amplifiers. The second fan then forces out the hot air, on the other side.

There are also individual distribution blocks, which were purchased from JayCar.

Here are some close up's of all the stuff: -
