Introduction

Not quite sure what to say here so I will keep it as brief as possible. I have had this project running ever since I purchased the car brand new in 1997. For many years it was running around stock with the only mods being a stereo & window tint. The stereo was simply an install with a generic box & all amps mounted under the driver & passenger seats. I was running a rather old Kenwood deck with a Sony Passive Controller ? EQ. These were bought brand new in 1997 when I purchased the car.

At this stage I had Kenwood 10? HQ Subs in a pre-made box & Polk Audio 6? splits front & rear. I had the Polk Audio?s powered by a 4 channel Rockford Fosgate amplifier & the subs were powered by another 2 channel Rockford Fosgate amp.

This was the case up until July 2002. I decided to purchase some Boston Pro?s which are now in the front. About 6 months later I purchased another set of Boston Pro?s for the rear. Not long after came the rest of the components & then the new install. All within a year that is.

About 18-24 months ago I found out that the engine was designed by Mitsubishi & possible engine transplants were early EVO, VR4 & DSM engines from the states. It was then my goal to complete an engine conversion & really see what I could make the car do. The following pages will go through this transformation, with plenty of pictures along the way.
