One of the reasons I chose the Lexus IS300 was because it comes with a great stock platform right out of the box. Even though I was completely a BMW enthusiast, having owned 3 & 5 series sedans, I decided to venture away from the new 330i and check out Toyota's Luxury Nameplate.
The IS300 boasts the NA version of the legendary 2JZ Toyota Supra Inline Six Cylinder engine. The Supra also had an optional Twin Turbo brother which is why the 2JZ is known to be so strong. The NA version in the IS300 today can handle close to 800 rwhp without needing any internal modifications which is why it is a popular car to tune. Turbo and Supercharger Upgrades are very popular.
This is partly why I chose the IS300 to be my project and weekend track car...

So far in my first SCCA Solo II Autocrossing season the car has done quite well. The following are my last season's results:
-WAI Event #4 - July 20th, 2003: 15th Place out of 38 drivers (11 trophies)
-SCCA Milwaukee Event - August 24th, 2003: 5th Place out of 31 drivers (9 trophies)
-SCCA Milwaukee Event #7 - September 14th, 2003: 7th Place out of 39 drivers (11 trophies)
-WAI Event #7 - September 28th, 2003: 13th Place out of 32 drivers (9 trophies)
-SCCA Milwaukee Event #8 - October 5th, 2003: 6th Place out of 50 drivers (14 trophies)
