I got this ram off of a friend of mine on a trade. We had bought a 1989 MR2 together for $500.00 ( 250 a piece ) and he wanted to buy out my half. He offered this to me in trade. I thought that trading 1 big truck for 1/2 of a tiny car was a good deal. We had used this truck for a variety of things before I became the owner. When she belonged to a tow company I worked for, we used her to pick up a medium duty tow truck in New York. It was supposed to be a three day trip. We lived in this truck for a week, during winter. And the medium duty tow truck we picked up, died. Have you ever seen a one wheel wonder towing a 1 ton flatbed down the interstate with a yellow DOT rated tow strap. Well the state troopers in Indiana hadn't either. We got pulled over and given props by the troopers, and tickets....... 3 of them. Shortly after that fiasco.... my friend used her to run to and from Las Vegas. Skip a few years ahead and she is still going strong, down the highway, at night. The deer was waiting in the bushes. He spotted our unsuspecting ram cresting a hill and pounced. Ultimately destroying the front end. So with all the abuse and millage on her I was still super attached and neither of us wanted to see her go. Even if the ram had hit a 8 point buck and the front end showed it! (Hence The Buckslayer,) The ram was a farm truck that had been abused ALOT. But I saw what she could be. She is not a 4x4 so going that route was going to be costly and time consuming. So, street truck it is! Now I'm not done with her by far, mostly engine and suspension work left to do now. I chose to mod the body first because she already ran VERY well (Despite the ground cable being held on by vice grips!). I will post more as it comes........
