1985 was the first year of the Tuned Port Injection (TPI) 350 engine, but it's still the same pushrod beast Chevy's been using since the 50s. My Corvette is equipped with the Z51 suspension option which included stiffer springs, thicker sway bars, Bilstein gas-charged shocks, a more rigid frame, oil cooler, tighter steering ratio and wider 9.5" wheels. 14,802 Z51 models were produced. Of the nearly 40,000 produced in 1985, less than 25% of them came with the 4+3 manual transmission.
