This is my 1972 99.5% fully preserved (NEVER RESTORED) Datsun 510. This 510 was purchased by Arthur Hughes brand new from nissan. He bought it for a family member, and then got it back when she passed away. He Loved this car, and has shown it 48 times, with 48 awards. He was invited to some prestigious car shows, she has been in magazines, and loved by many. Arthur was a great man, and he put lots of love, and care into his 510, he droe it to every show, and yet she is still under 140k. Arthur recently passed away in December, and had asked our family to purchase the car, to keep it preserved and not modify it, he had others look at it, and not show any appreciation for it the way he knew he would want it taken care of. So my father purchased her, and then here a few weeks ago sold her to me. I viewed Arthur like family, i loved him. He was a great man, strong spirit, strong heart, and he had such great beliefs. He was one in a million, i know i will never meet anyone as great as him again in my lifetime. This is why i love this car so much, to me it is a extension of Arts soul, and i have promised to maintain it as it is, for the rest of my life. I am not the owner, only the caretaker of this car, because it will forever be Art Hughes preserved 510, im just taking care of it for him. Only things that have been replaced on the car are normal time of use items such as suspension, brakes, and so on. Shes is 99.5% original, only a few will notice that .5% off. He put alot of heart into her. Thank you for reading :) What's on your mind?
