LEXAN WINDSHIELD/HATCH BUILD

I STARTED OFF BY LAYING THE LEXAN OVER THE ORIGINAL HATCH TO MEASURE IT OUT. I THEN MASKED OVER THE CUTTING SURFACE TO ENSURE THAT THE CUTS I MADE WERE CLEAN.

AFTER THE CUTTING WAS FINISHED, I HAND SANDED THE EDGES TO EVEN THE GAPS ON BOTH SIDES.

AS YOU CAN SEE, I CUT OUT THE LEXAN EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL.

THE TRIM WAS A PERFECT FIT BUT THE LEXAN WAS THINNER THAN THE ORIGINAL GLASS SO THE TRIM DIDN'T STAY IN BY ITSELF. SOOOO WITH A LITTLE EPOXY IN THE RIGHT PLACES, THE TRIM WAS SEALED AROUND THE EDGES AND LOOKS GREAT!

THE DECK LID MATED EXACTLY WITH THE BOLT HOLES IN THE HATCH.

HERE IT IS AFTER THE TRIM WAS RE-PAINTED A GLOSSY BLACK AND THE BODY PAINT WAS COMPLETED AS WELL. YOU WOULDN'T EVEN THINK TWICE TO QUESTION THE ORIGINALITY OF THE HATCH AND DECK WOULD YOU? TRRRRICK!
