To fill some time until I get the car out I thought I'd show you some of my friends rides from here in Thunder Bay and surrounding area.

Here is my good friend Alfie's Mercury Capri (looks like a Mustang, but look at the fenders), this thing runs low 10's with some help from a 150 shot of giggle gas, 11's on the motor alone. Should be good for 9's with the 200 or 250 shot, and this is a 306 cu in motor, not a stroker or 351. It's a beautiful car (and I ain't a Mustang guy):

This is Facca's sweeet Toyota. He bought this truck brand new and had it on these 16s within 10 mins. It has got progressivly lower all the time and has airshocks for lift. He painted it silver 3 years ago and put the airbrushed graphics on the following year. He did all the paint work himself, from the base coat, right through to the incredably detailed airbrushing:

Here is Steve-O's B2200 Mazda, he's been workin on it for a couple of years. This last spring/summer I helped him install a 4 wheel fast-bag (1/2" line) kit with a custom 4-link and bridge in the rear. We hand made all of the brakets and mounts for the whole set-up ourselves. Steve is helping me with the fan shroud mods for the bug. Really cool little truck.

Hogan's little Mazda has all the tricks, 4 wheel bags, custom notch and a 2 1/2 body drop. The pinch molding were shaved off and the bodys lays flat on the ground. Facca did the awesome multi-color graphics and this trucks snaps necks here in Thunder Bay.

My friend Jules' 70 1/2 Camaro, he's a Bug guy from way back. This car runs 10's with no power adders, unless you call the Brodix headed big block a power adder. Cool car:

This is Jordan's Deuce coupe, it was built in the 60's. Has a 65 Corvette 327, full tuck and roll interior and painted undercarage. It has been featured in lots of magazines. This car is so cool to go cruising in,:

This is Mike's 63 Bug, he runs a IDA fed 2275 very similar to mine The car cooks, it runs 13.1s at 100mph. I met Mike at the Minneapolis Bug-In in 2000, when the car had amazing Gene Berg Weberg 52mm carbs, he's since removed those and installed the IDAs, love the Erco wheels:

Corbett's Jeep is wild, with 14" of lift and 40" Super Swampers, since the photos he added a Warn HS9500 winch. Its off the road now, getting full width Dana 44 and Ford 9" axles, with 5.13:1 gears and lockers front and back and new 44" Swampers:

This is my friend Terry's Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, he just got it in from Japan. Due to the importation laws, the car must be 15 yrs old, his car is an Aug 89 built car so he payed for it in April and it is now here. He's got some mods planned for it this winter and has already got GODZLLA plates for it. Here are a couple of pics I took of it sitting in the train yard in Thunder Bay:

Very nice looking Cal look. I'm new to car domain and I'm trying to take a look at all the other VWs and say hello. I really like what you've done. I just got my '56 Dubbug up and as you'll see I went a little bit past the Cal look but, she certainly looks fast. I don't regret going full custom, but the clean Cal look has a great style. Nice job.

Hey,
I get my jets from work, since I work at a VW performance shop (I work in the machine shop and build engines, do machine work etc...) Anyway that gearing combo should work, depending on your tire height. I'm guessing your gonna go with a 26" tall slick? I have taller gears in mine 1st through 3rd, though my 4th gear is almost the same thing (I've gota a 1.21 forth). My tranny was geared for a 24" tall tire though. Have you driven it with the 86c yet? I ran a custom ground web cam that was the same profile as the FK-87, and the car was alot slower compaired to the 86c, with everything else the same. I think you'll like it!
