As you may know a while back gas got expensive :)> and as a young guy in a 4.6 liter Mustang GT, gas got real expensive real quick. I ended up purchasing something with literally less than half the motor . . . a 1997 Toyota Camry, a.k.a "Cam Can", with a 2.2 liter 4 cylinder (5sfe.) This is an economy motor although it is also found in sportier Toyota Mr2's and Celicas. While driving the Camry over a three year period I made some minor changes. I would have done more mods but didn't due to not having much $ while going to school. I only installed an alpine CD player, alpine speakers all the way through, and 2x12" subs. Eventually I needed to replace my air filter so I upgraded to a chrome Injen short ram intake that I converted into a cold air intake. I got an urge to fix up the exterior. I tinted my windows and added rain guards. That tint looked great, but not against a ten year old paint job. That led to getting a new paint job and purchasing  some chrome 17" Trifecta wheels. I know 17" aren't that impressive but it's a great upgrade from dull 14" hubcaps. I wanted to add a little more sound/perfomance/economy/shine so I purchased new iridium spark plugs, chrome 4-1 header, and chrome downpipe. My most recent mod was the reverse glow gauge. I have always thought that a clean paint job, a decent set of wheels, and a tint job could really transform the way any boring old car looks. I was now happy with "Cam Can" untill some idiot ran into the side of my car. I am now in the process of picking out a body kit and what color to repaint the Camry. I'll put updated photos soon. . . .
