After some vigorous cleaning of the dirt, grime, and the residue left by the double sided tape that had accumulated under the front lip over the years, it was time to mount the new CF front lip made by Crux. Aside from some of the holes not lining up exactly, everything fit really well. No need for messy double sided tape that tends to loosen over time and leave a mess.
As you can see by the photo, I did a mock mounting of the CF canards as the same time. I just used plain jane masking tape to hold the canards in position. The canards were custom made for this model car and form fitted to this bumper so there s only one way they can go onto the bumper. However, getting them exactly lined up evenly on both sides was tough and took several tries.
Getting them exactly lined eventually proved to be impossible, so I wound up mounting them in very slightly different positions. The attack angle is the same, but the left side is about a little less than 1 cm more left than the right canard. Hardly noticeable, but I hope it doesn't have any adverse affects at the track.
