This is my 1972 Datsun 510 4 door. When I origionally bought this car my friends called it the "Clown Car" because it was so many different colors. Then it got the beautiful paint job you see here from Jimmy at Rancho Auto Body in Encinitas California, thanks Jimmy! The car has won several awards. The door handles have been shaved off and the remote opens the doors electrically, power windows have also been installed. The 1.6 liter got a big cam and dual Mikuni's but there still wasn't enough power so now I am putting in a V-8. Engine: 327 CID Small Block Chevrolet with billet Crower crank, Crower super light rods, 12:1 JE pistons, Air Flow Research CNC ported heads, 850 cfm Holley double pumper carburator, 2.05 intake 1.60 exhaust valves, Schneider roller cam 296 duration, 575 lift, Victor Intake and a highly modified oil pan and a wet sump with remote pump, filter and cooler. The steering center link goes through the oil pan which has been specially modified.Cooling is handled by a Meziere remote water pump and a Ron Davis radiator. All this power through a World Class T-5 stick shift to a R200 IRS with a 5.13 locker. Expected horsepower in the 550 to 575 range at about 8500 to 9000 rpm. Interior: There is a full 10 point cage that extends into the front engine compartment and back into the trunk where the fuel cell, battery and amps are located. The seats are aluminum Kirkey with 5 point harnesses and the dash is aluminum with Auto Meter gagues. Suspension: Centerline 17" wheels with ZR rated tires, polyurethane bushings, front and rear sway bars, Tokiko adjustable struts and shocks and 280Z front struts and brakes help to stop this go cart on a dime..
