This is my 1984 Camaro. I bought it when I was 15 and half years old. I got it for 300 bucks. It had bald tires bashed in front fenders and a carborated 2.8 motor with 2 blown pistons. This car was junk. It took me 3 months to do the body work on it, paint it, and get a new motor in it. I put on 2 new fenders and a new drivers side door. I found a 86 Camaro 2.8 multi-port motor for 60 dollors that supposidly ran. It did run too. All it could do though was move its self from place to place. It had no power. I spray painted the wheels and put on Cooper Cobra tires. I also put on a glass pack for a little bit of rumble. Then after a year I found a good set of 91 ground effects for it. But, as you can see I don't have the front piece. Then I put on Z-Racing rims. Then another year later I bought a Crane Cam for the 2.8. I got it in. Drove for about 3 miles down the rode and the oil light came on. Then she locked up and that was it. I tore the motor apart and found out just what I expected, bad bearings, a ruined crank and seized up pistons. I scrapped it and whent out on a hunt for a V-8. Never found a good cheep one but I did come across a 96 3800 Series II Camoro motor with 16,000 miles on it. I got the motor, PCM, and wireing all for 150 bucks. Getting this motor in was a pain. I had to make custom motor mounts for it. That took a good week. After that though, the rest wasn't to hard untill I got finished. The computer was cutting the injectors off for some unkown reason. It took me about three weeks to figure it out. That motor had a Theft Deterant System (TDS) wich cut off the injectors if the PCM didn't recieve a certain amount of hertz per second. This sygnal could only come frome a 96 Body Control Module (BCM). So I had to buy one of those. But then, the BCM had to have a certain amount of resistance from a resister. Because in the 96 Camaro the ignition key had a resister built into it. I found out that I had 8 different resisters to try. I tested the resisters and found a match. It fired right up and has since forever ran. But of course, another problem. About a week later the transmision broke. My 3 4 clutches burnt up. So I rebuilt it. I added a B&M shift kit to it and added one extra cluth to forth gear by putting in a thinner snap ring. That worked fine for a little while but then the torque converter cracked and broke the front pump. I rebuilt the front pump and bought a rebuilt torque converter. When I rebuilt the front pump, the new rotor I bought had 10 vains instead of 7, but that didn't make a difference. Now it's running like a brand new car. It's great. I had a lot more complications with the motor and transmission but I don't feel like complaining about them all.
