Everybody has, at one time, had "that car" that he/she knew was a mistake going in and bought the car anyway...
Everyone has also had that one car they'll never forget, even if he/she has moved on to bigger and better things.
This is the "unforgettable" car to me- my old Mark VIII. Though I sold the car over 2 years ago, I'm leaving this up anyway as a tribute.
Story is, I found it on Ebay, and it was at a local dealer who has since shut down... The salesman knew my dad through his work, and agreed to hold the car for us. He took it off Ebay. It took 3 weeks to sell my Camry- but he held the car- for that I am very grateful!
First, the Camry I sold to buy the Lincoln. Bought in May 2004. '95 DX, 5-speed, a couple of minor mods to set it apart from the thousands of Camrys just like it (removed intake silencers, clear corners, Gen 5.5 hubcaps, etc). Had just about 170K miles on it when I sold it in June, 2005
The Mark VIII
Interior shot... the seats were in fantastic shape, I kept up on them with Lexol leather conditioner. Mine had just about every available option including the factory cell phone!

What I did to it:
- Chrome wheels were replaced with later-model argent-finish 10-spoke wheels on Falken Ziex 512 tires. Great tire for this car, I stand behind them.
- Air silencers removed. Made for some serious induction roar- did a real nice Mustang imitation! Perhaps because this was the engine that, with revisions, later went into the 1996 Mustang Cobra...
- Car had trans replaced before I bought it- dropped the pan to make sure it had the right 1-2 accumulator in it, it did, gave it 12 quarts of fresh Mercon V
- General maintenance/detailing
- Air ride was swapped for a coil conversion kit
- Monroe Sensatrac rear shocks (the T-bird mod) on custom solid mounts sourced through markviii.org
- Other odds and ends
Maybe I'll have another someday, for now, I'm loving life with the Mustang.
