I bought this car in July 2003, for $500, and drove it home. It was sitting for 7 years.. needed a new battery, and some carb cleaner, but fired right up.

Yeah, the roof is a little rusty.. it had a vinyl top on it at one point, and someone removed it, but didn't do anything after that...

My first priority is the brakes... some idiot put tranny fluid in the master cylinder, so all the rubber seals and stuff throughout the brake system are shot. I will be doing a complete brake overhaul, rebuilding calipers, master cylinder, hoses, pistons, etc etc.. also, it's getting new rotors and drums. After that, I will be working on the interior. I already have a new carpet kit and headliner for it.. carpet's been installed,.. headliner will be after other stuff gets done.

The body is exceptionally straight, all the chrome is there, and all the glass is perfect. the engine seems to run very well, .. not a bad project car! I have done some work on it, including the trunk, interior, Dash, roof.. more to come :)

Update 7/8/04

So far, I've got a 360 long block in the garage, headers, full 3" exhaust with flowmasters, Edelbrock Performer intake and carb.. all to eventually go in the engine bay :)

I've done quite a bit of work on the exterior.. (stripped the quarters, roof, decklid .. done the body work and primed them)
I've sandblasted the inner fenderwells and painted them
Had the front suspension rebuilt with PST parts
upgraded to 8 3/4" rear
upgraded front brakes to bigger rotors/calipers from '73 style Duster
15x7" steel wheels painted body color

Hey Mark, Nice Dart!! Are you going to take it all down to baremetal? Looks great! 5 stars!! Come check out my 72 AMC Matador project sometime. Luckily I only had to take the passenger door down to bare metal as the rest of the car was rust free, so I just scuffed it out and primered it up. The Dart will look sweet when its done!
