I just painted the Miata Gm pewter silver with some tinting for the strips. Those stripes were a pain to mask, but I like them now. I painted this is in my somewhat sealed off carport with a whole house fan to keep out the overspray. It was then color sanded and buffed.

This is where it all started.
The poor little stock Miata, good thing it doesn't know the terrible fate that awaits.
The heart has been removed from the patient, it's life hangs in the balance.

The donor heart awaiting transplant, the tried and true ford 5.0; aluminum motosport street heads, 9.25:1 fordged pistons, stock cam with 1.7 crane roller rockers and custum 1.5" shorty headers. Ah, the gift of organ donation saves another life.
The finished product. This is not a Panache kit, there were things about the kit that I wanted to change, so I started from scratch. I moved the radiator forward so I could use the Miata fans on a Koyo 2.25" aluminum radiator, the engine is mounted on 1986 Ford Broncho motor mounts, the headers were custom made to exit under the car instead of through the wheel well and I made my own diff mounts. The motor was built with low end torque in mind and making the smog Nazi's happy. I love short shifting and having full torque at about 3000 rpm, instant sideways without a lot of fanfare.
I don't like open element air filters so i made this aluminum airbox with a flat K&N inside. It mounts the airflow meter nice too. It was a crazy amount of work, but I have more time than money (and sense). You may notice my intake has been flipped to the left. I did this because there's more room on the driver's side for the airbox and I can leave room for the AC and charcol cannister on the other side. The lower intake was also shaved 5/16 inch for hood clearance. I'm not using subframe spacers but I did have to cut one of the hood supports to fit the tubular GT40.
