WEEK 1
Just got the car and already cant sit on my arse!
1st task was to remove the surpluss stuff that wasn;t staying, and then to slowly take off and log the stuff that was. All original RX components need to be refurbished and kept as best as possible.

Heres the front end as she stands on sunday. Its on stands because the starter wont kick.
Full respray is due, so the cracks muxt be sorted

Yup, thats how much black paint FLAKED off, haven't actually used the sander on the lower panel yet. Post opinions on what i should do on the front in the guestbook.

WEEK 2

Busy Holiday for me!
Got the car fully rubbed down and in primer, all of the dents, rust and other blemishes taken care of.

Easy to see the improvement here. Hammered out the splitter and spent a whole heap of time fixing other problem spots.

Check out the side exits! god if only they were slash cut...

WEEK 3

Back at work, so little progress this week. Gutted the interior out, Trteated the surface rust on the floor and changed the starter motor. (Had to remove steering rack and Header to get it off!) Fabricated a new mount for the steering rack so it now sits at a normal angle again.

Tackled the boot too, whick now looks a lot neater

Removed more from the engine thats to be replaced, and can now see wood from the trees. Those twin SU's will soon be off to make way for a Holley. Any tips on what size of Carb would be appreciated!

WEEK 4

Ebay time! picked up a set of GOTTI dished rims for the ride.
15x7's for the front and 16x8#s for the bach. Need a ckean and a refurb for some of them.

First coat also finished. Pics to come for next week!

Respray now finished. Not all back the way it was. Bumper(fender) on the front wont be going back on. Think it looks better without!

Well, it has been a fair old while since i last posted pics here.
A few changes have slowed me down. First off, i have opened my own workshop and went into business on my own. Second, i felt the need to tear the V8 out, tear all the loom out and fully rebuild the car from scratch.

Have been toying with 18s, which seem to bolt straight on. As such i'm still undecided as to whether they look as good as i want.

any progress on the project? I owned a 4-door for many years...awesome car. I had many thrills and spills in night car rallies around Ayrshire.I've been checking out various sites with great interest (is this the car from Dundee that was in Autotrader a couple of years back?)

Hi there i was very pleased to see your car, more than most as i owned the car for approx 17 years.I also fitted the v8 in the car.At first i ran the car for many years with a rotery 2.3,then fitted a 2.6 rotery from an rx4.When i got the car it had been used as a ralley car, hence the rollcage i still have many photos, etc.Anyway great to see the car is still alive and kicking if you want more info please ask . all the best with the car .

I owned 2rotaries and a GANG load of 12As and 13Bs , they just dont make the power of a V8. My 400Ci produce 400plus HP "TO THE WHEELS". After 10Gs of investing into those car I sold for it 1200bucks , my lost!
