This is my 1983 Trans Am, It is black and gold and is a recaro edition. My dad ordered in from a pontiac dealer in 1983 and has looked this way ever since and i have pictures to prove it. It has a chevy 305 that was bored out to a 350 but later found out that 305 would blueprinted as 350's. It is a 4 speed automatic with the 700r4 transmission, Synethetic transmission fluid was changed every 7000 miles and the car only has 86,000 original miles. Oil used was mobil one synthtic and is changed every 1000-2000 miles. My father has removed all electric wires like cruise control and air conditioner for peak performance. Has removed all the smog pumps and other smog things. It has a unsilenced air intake system. A rebuilt 4-barrel Edelbrock Q-Jet 650 cfm. An edelbrock performer intake manifold. It has SLP headers and it has a SLP Y pipe with removed cats. It sounds mean. Other modifications have been done but will remain unsaid. Car was dynoed last month at 296 hp to the rear wheels and 303 pounds of torque. That is around 350 hp at the crank and almost 360 pounds of torque. Has not been run at the track and probley never will but i predict mid to low 13's. Car has been clocked to 60 in 5.17 seconds. Everything is original , right down to the engine block to the paint. Enjoy the page. 1 of only 3 originals known to date.

Please sign the guestbook and dont forget to rate it and how could you rate this as you dont like it or its only an ok car? You know you love it.

This is what the car looked like in 1984.

This is what the car looks like now. Still reflects like water and paint is in better condition because of all the coats of wax and care. This is the front end shot of the bird, as you can see the drag is low, lowest to date is 82-83 Trans am with a .22 drag.

The 15 inch Rims use in the series knight rider. Came stock on car but are hard to find now and if you find them you will pay a fortune.

Notice the stock mufflers and yes they still do shine, Stainless steel!

If your wondering why this car doesnt look stock is because it is 1 of only 3 of this edition known to date and the other 2 i believe have been repainted and has new decals and are not original owners, my dad is the original owner and it has never been repainted or had new new decals put on.

That's not a Recaro - look at the headrests on the seats. And the wheels on the '83 T/A were NOT the wheels they used on Knight Rider - Knight Rider used the 1982 wheels with the "bowling ball" wheel covers. And I have no idea what you're talking about with the 305/350 stuff. All these V8s were 305s; a 305 bored out as far as it will go (.060 over) still doesn't amount to 350CI, so I don't know where you're getting that. What you appear to have is a regular '83 Trans Am, not a Recaro Edition. For more info on Recaros, go to http://www.ohok.com/82recaro

No way that thing has a Cd of 0.22 That's BS. The Honda Insight, a car that was built specifically to be aerodynamic has a Cd figure of 0.25 So to top it all off, I did some research, and have some hard fact to prove you wrong. Inreferance to 3rd generation Trans Ams: http://ohok.com/82recaro/history.html "The Trans Am was the most aerodynamic production car GM had ever made at the time. Wind tunnels were used to sculpt the body to perfection. Coefficient of drag was a low 0.32. Two years later it would drop again to 0.299"

Ok, I am going to prove more bullshit here. How can you take an engine (305) with a 3.740" bore, and bore it out to a 350, which has a 4.000" bore? It's impossible. Your car isn't a Recaro edition, either. It's just some wannabe piece of crap with a sticker on the hood. Also, how can you get 360HP out of a car that had 175HP stock, with just an intake, carb, headers and Y-Pipe? It's impossible. A true 360HP would be in the 12s. You're still running high 14s. Loser. For proof on the bore, here you go. http://www.prestage.com/community/Cars/GM/Chevrolet/General+Engine+Information/302.aspx
