Upgarding to a larger Z32 air flow meter!
For those looking to enhance the BHP to over 300 horses, it's a good idea to upgrade their air flow meter to a larger unit like the one from Z32 (300ZX). The basic stock airflow meter is good up to 300BHP anyway and the Z32 is useable up to at least 500BHP.
The Z32 have a 80mm diameter surface area opening for the compressor to suck the air in. Wwiring wise is pretty straight forward if you have a steady hand and knows how to use a solding tip.
Of coz , along with bigger injectors and turbo, the larger unit definitely sees its usefulness.
You will need either an Apexi SAFC or a fully programmable ECU to control this. Using the larger air flow meter without any supoorting means will give your S13 and erratic idle and power.
S13/S14 MAF Connector Z32 MAF Connector
Wire the MAFS in like the diagram below.
The 12V wire on the CA18 is black with a white stripe.The negative(-) is all black.
The signal wire is like orange . The Z32 have two ground. Just twist the two ground together and connect to the negative.
Then on the S-AFC, go into the SENSOR TYPE menu and select HOT WIRE. After that, calibrate it (email me for calibration).
That's it! It should run perfectly, just make sure you have the MAFS hooked up properly.

SAFC-II Wiring Diagram for SR20DET
This information was tested to work on a red top SR20DET
It should work on the early black top as well.
SAFC-II Wire Color - ECU Pin # - ECU Wire Color - Function
White wire - ECU pin 16 - white wire - MAF Signal Input from MAF (You actually cut the ECU's wire in half)
Yellow wire - ECU pin 16 - white wire - MAF Signal Output to ECU*
Grey wire - pin 20 - white wire - TPS
Purple wire - pin 27 - white wire - Knock Sensor
Green wire - pin 3 - yellow/red wire - Tach Signal
Red wire - pin 47 - black/white wire - Power
Black wire - pin 39 - black wire - Ground (Further from ECU 1cm from brown SAFC wire)
Brown wire - pin 39 - black wire - Ground (closer to ECU 1cm from black SAFC wire)

ADAPTING A 90 300ZX MAF SENSOR 22680-30P00
INTO OTHER NISSAN CONTROL SYSTEMS
NOTE: A JWT ECU PROGRAMMED FOR THIS CHANGE MUST BE USED.
Use a 300ZX connector plug to replace the original MAF wire loom connector. Solder and shink tube all connections to make solid water tight splices.Cut the wires and solder them to the correct 300ZX connector wires (see chart below).This conversion will only work with a JWT ECU programmed specifically for this MAF sensor.
*Due to the variations of Nissan wiring between models, this may not be the correct Nissan MAF sensor pins for the model you are working on. You must confirm that 300ZX pin �E� is connected to 12v . 300ZX pins �C� and �D� are connected to the Nissan ground wire. 300ZX pin �B� must be connected to the Nissan 0 -5V MAF signal wire.
