This is my 1997 NA8C Miata, named Sidewinder because of the cool hissing sound of the Racing Beat intake that's been installed, and for the fact that I like to break the rear wheels loose and go tail-out through tight corners.
I bought her in the summer of 2002 with about 48k miles on the odometer.

I bought the Garage Vary lip spoiler from RSpeed, for my birthday. I think it makes the car look much more.. what's the French word for it? Kickass? I think that's it.

The interior is also (lightly) modded with tan leather boots for the shifter and handbrake. The radio is gone, with a homemade polished aluminum plate in its place. The newest addition to the car is a MazdaSpeed D-Cut 350mm steering wheel, shipped from Japan (which means it adds 40 horsepower!).

The engine timing has also been bumped up from 10 BTDC to 14 BTDC. Racing Beat's 'High Flow Air Inlet Assembly' was added for breathing and sound, and is coupled with the Racing Beat Sport midpipe (unresonated) and the Power Pulse exhaust. A shock tower bar was added for a reduction in NVH. Also of note is my JDM hood prop rod, which being JDM, is good for at least 20 horsepower and 3 cute Tokyo girls, not to mention improving downforce at speed.
The newest addition is a NACA duct headlight lid for the driver's side, which I fabricated myself. It consists of a carbon fiber duct attached to the OEM headlight lid. The duct flows an awful lot of air straight to the filter. A cold air isolation box is in the works.

Newer additions include the chrome fuel lid, Falken Azenis rubber at the corners, FIAMM air horns, Pilot foglights, and the rollbar.

Upcoming toys: Tein Flex suspension system, 15" Enkei RP-F1 wheels, and a Racing Beat header. ____________________________________________________________________________________
I took the following pictures at this 2003's Miatas At Deal's Gap meet. Sidewinder looks very young and very different, I'd say.
The weather was absolutely beautiful at the Gap, and definitely made the day enjoyable. Except for my sunburn. For 2004, I hope to make the trip a weekend affair, since I only spent a day there in 2003.
