So I suppose it is time to give you an idea of the cosmetic, interior and trim design plans we have in store for this ICON Bronco.....
Exterior Design Outline

OK, for the exterior, we want to keep it classic and simple, but add a bit of ICON style to it. So we are re-designing all of the exterior trim elements.
Front Grill:
Designed with a nod to the past, but distinctly ICON. This will be fabricated in stailless steel, with CNC'ed stainless and enameled I C O N letters, and LED lighing.

We decided to create our own special font for all lettering on the truck....

Tailgate Panel:
We deleted the license plate holder, and designed this stainless panel insert. Fabricated in stainless, then B-4 line brushed, and acid etched. Sexy!

Exterior Light Guards:
To enhance the utility value and add a bit of detail, we designed some cool stainless light guards for the side markers and taillights.

Side Beltline Trim Spears:
From the Ranger package, yet we will PCD plate them in a teflon grey color. PVD is a high tech aerospace coating done in an autoclave. Super durable and stealth. Often seen on aircraft and luxurt watches.
Door handles and Rear View Mirrors:
Again, Camilo and I redesigned these, to have a bit more attitude than the originals. Did you know the originals were borrowed from the Mustang? CNC'ed in stainless.

Here you see us taking advantage of SLS modeling to try out a few variations....

Side Emblems:
CNC'ed in stainless, with baked enamel red. Similar to the originals, but tweaked a bit.

Front Bumper:
In kin with our FJ and CJ design, but a bit simpler, with integrated LED lighting and a hidden Warn winch. CNC'ed hawse fairlead and thimble by Viking Off-road. Black annodized finish.
This was out first design idea, but we did not really like it....

This is what we ended up doing....

Rear Bumper:
We kept with a design based on our FJ rear bumper. We reshaped the main section to better match the Bronco body shape. We deleted the can carrier so you could see the Bronco scrpit on the tailgate, added a high power LED reverse light...... here it is!

Glass:
I sometimes like to use architectural glass on my projects. Originally intended for skyscrapers, this quality glass is available in a wide range of tints, without the use of a film. The tint is actually within the layers of the glass. So we selected a dark gray tint with a mild reflective coating on the exterior plane. Once cut to shape, we had it tempered so it is right for automotive use.
