This is my 1987 Pontiac Trans Am GTA pictured with the different sets of wheels I have had on it.(besides the stock gold crosslace) The pictures on the left are of my brand new 17X9.5" Ronal R15s in chrome. These are the same as the Firehawk wheels of the 91-92 Pontiac Firehawks. This was the second last set that will ever be made in chrome. I have these wrapped in 275/40/17 BFGoodrich rubber. The other wheels were 18X8 Eagle 077 polished aluminum I recently sold. These were a 4th gen fitment, so I had to use spacers, which I wasn't really fond of doing. Now I'm hearing rumors of a 17" GTA crosslace billet aluminum wheel in the works. I might need new wheels again!!!
I have also done considerable upgrades to the 5.7L L98 engine. The first pic shows the engine how it was up until last week. I installed an Accel(Superram)intake base manifold. This was connected to the ported/polished SLP runners which connected to the plenum which I also ported/polished/siamesed. I also was using an SLP cold air kit and all the free mods. The exhaust gasses exited through a set of Edelbrock headers which flowed to a Hooker 3" catback system with 4 chrome tips. Well, most of this is gone now. I am in the middle of installing Trick Flow aluminum heads, LT4 Hotcam, 1.6 roller rockers and a converted LT1 intake which is pictured in a mockup in the second pic. The Edelbrocks will be gone in favor of a set of coated Hooker headers. I also am upgrading the current 22# SVO injectors to 30# SVOs. I am conservatively hoping for 350 RWHP from this setup.

Hey, Nice GTA! Did you have any problems with the LT1 intake swap? I am doing the same thing on my 90 GTA this winter. What size intake gasket did you use? 1205? I was thinking of getting a set of cnc'd patriot heads but they take 1206 gaskets and I have heard of people having issues with those gaskets and the lt1 intake.5**
