1978 Olds Cutlass

bigdlb12's 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

This is my baby a 1978 white Cutlass supreme, I first got her when I was 15,back in 1995,at that time she had a Chevy 350 off of a 94 Chevy pick-up with only 15k miles and had a 700r4 trans. I only put a 2-barrel carb. on it to save on gas for high school. I totaled her at the age of 16, frame all bent up but now she has a new frame off of a 1984 Pontiac Boniville, she is powered by a Buick 455 7.5L and a th400 trans. It has a 4-barrel Quad-Jet Carb. Extras are a power sunroof, Brougham package, ant. in front windshield, org. big grip str. wheel, org. wheels, and does not have a shifter( you turn right below the str. wheel,etc... I have plan to get a 850 cfm Holley Double Pumper Carb., Mild cam, intake manifold, and headers if they fit(which I dont think they will). The power is great and the torque is crazy,I dont know what they did to these old motors, but the are great. To get this thing in there my dad and I did alot of cutting and welding, the motor mounts are cut about half way down and the org. oil filter had to be replace with a shorter one from some old car,it was hitting on the frame. Let me know what ya"ll think.
My Dad also has a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix, its in real nice shape, new paint and Seats, I"ll try puting some pictures up soon. If you look close enough on the last picture ,you can see it behind my Cutlass,Before it was painted.

My cars are this 78 Cutlass w/a/455 7.5L and a th400 trans, a 1972 super Beetle w/a 1600cc with a 2-barrel holley carb. In the future I wish to get a 1965 Buick Wildcat w/a 401 motor, and later a 1970 Olds 4-4-2 w/a 455 7.5L.

My Dads cars are a 1972 Grand Prix w/a 400 6.6L and a th400 trans, a 1954 Chevy Wagon w/a 350 5.7L and a th350 trans, a 1960 Chevy Apache Pick-up with a 450hp 350 5.7L and a 700r4 trans, a 1962 Buick Invicta Wagon dont know the motor size, some old Caddy w/a 500 motor, and our new project a 1966 Chevy II Nova w/a in-line 6. As you can tell we love cars. I'll try putting pictures up by next week.

This is her with the Pontiac frame and the 1973 Buick 455 and trans.bigdlb12's 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

Thanks for checking out my Cutlass... yours looks great, and sounds like it's a blast to drive. I think the 78 Cutlass has been neglected for too long, it's great to see other people out there who love this car too!

You have come a long way with the cutlass. Mine doesn't have a pearl blue paint job, it is the stock baby blue color. What other plans do you have for your cut.

Happy Holidays everyone.. I just want to thank all of you who took the time to stop by, check out my site, and leave a message and/or rate my Cutlass.. I've been on CarDomain a year today and have had the pleasure of talking to you. I've even been able to meet a few of you in person. I hope 2005 brings all of you everything you wish for. Best Wishes !!
