4/29/2008 Car is now in storage until my son turns 16, 2 more years. I'll definite be limiting the boost availible.

Serious time and effort went into making this a very nice and fast ride. No part was missed in the drive train to hold this kind of horse power. Runs now on VP Streetblaze 103 unleaded race gas. If running over 17 psi, it must be run on this fuel.

Welp, took the plunge on 7Jan06 and installed the motor, trans, new turbo GT2871R setup. It's flying again, now for some dyno time.
Well, back from the Dyno 3-3-06 and here's the Baseline. Boost 17psi at 307WHP/266torque. It's plenty for the street and won't turn it up unless at the track. 300whp on a light fwd car = no traction. But it's fun. 3-5-06 found a coupling split that's why the dyno was only giving me 307whp. LOL woohoo, holding 20 psi steady and can go even higher with race gas. 20psi is the limit on timing with 93 octane gas. Starts to see some knock so I've backed it back down to 17 for the street.


The forged CP pistons cracked in the valve recess area on every piston. So redone the motor except the same benson sleeves and pauter rods. Weisco pistons, coated bearings, re-ported head, oversized valves with valve porting, bigger throttle body, Toda high flow oil pump, new crank. Whew, alot of stuff.

Last year with the smaller turbo. The car put down 215whp at 8psi and ended with 282whp and 246ft/lb torque at a dropping 17PSI. The GT28R is out of it's effiency range at this flow so I went with a bigger turbo.

The Benson Sleeved block when it first came in. 75.5MM CP pistons. With the shaved head and these pistons, the car runs back at a 9.6:1 compression ratio.
New pistons is weisco 9:1 pistons.

Here's the tough slick transmission. Wow talk about improved shifting. It shifts at 8700 rpm as good as it does at 3000.
