stormy's 1996 GSX

Here is my newest addition to the yard :) i traded an 86/90 Mustang GT for it (the 90 GT had become one with a telephone pole so all but the drivers door was swapped to the 86 GT shell)
My buddy had the car for three years and sadly hadnt been able to put a single mile on it. he tells me it has no injector pulse... as it sits this eclipse has just over 200k miles on it!
after i charged the battery i gave it a crank, my first impression was no compression lol. Adding a bit of starting fluid made no change to the random small pop coming from the exhaust. Next was a t-belt intallation verification, happily it was right but that doesnt mean it wasnt at one time... on to a compression test, reslults below

so where is it all going???? putting air in the cylinders revealed a lack of rings. The motor is supposed to be new (well, 3 yrs old but no miles) so i litterally wonder if there are rings in there! on the plus side, the fresh head (valves were found to be bent last year) is still good but i question why they were bad in the first place on a fresh motor...
Anyway, this is how it sits till i get around to pulling the motor.
