georgecavalierrs's 2011 Dodge Avenger

Thanks for taking a look at my 2011 Dodge Avenger. The website made me put that it is the Mainstreet trim but the car is actually the Heat trim. This car replaces my 2007 Cobalt as I was looking for a larger, more powerful vehicle that wouldn't break the bank (or get lousy gas mileage). While I wasn't a Dodge person, I decided to check out the Avenger since it looked good on paper. I came away quite impressed as, while it may look a lot like the 2008-2010 version, it is quite a different car underneath. I may become a Mopar guy afterall. While I can't vouch for the improvements on the 4-cyl version, the new 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 blows the old 3.5 (and much of the competition) out of the water. It has 283hp and 260 ft/lbs of torque which is good for a 0-60 time of 6.0 seconds... so it is plenty quick for northeast PA's roads. The 6-speed auto has been smooth so far and includes the Autostick manual shift mode. It also handles decently for a midsize family sedan. Like I said, I bought the Heat trim which adds the fog lights, rear spoiler, the V6, 18 inch alloys, red and black interior and an upgraded sound system. I also looked at the Chrysler 200 (same car as the Avenger) but I didn't like the styling as much. Also, I think the red and black interior is the way to go with this car as the all black is too plain and the tan looks like it's an easy target for dirt.

The grille and bumper fascia are new for 2011.

I wish the 2011 Heat had the blacked-out headlights that the R/T has. This may become a future mod.

New LED tailights are also one of the few exterior changes for 2011. Personally, I wish Dodge added the "Race Track" tail lights like on the Charger and Dart. Note the dual exhausts... it's how you can differentiate the V6 from the 4-cyl.

Dodge calls these "ring of fire" tail lights lol.

A few night shots.

A couple pics of the engine.

I hate how the new cars' engines are covered in plastic. I would rather see some metal!

The interior has been nicely redone for 2011. There's a lot less hard plastic.

The Heat trim has the option red and black two-tone interior. The red inserts on the seats and doors are covered in this black mesh stuff and unfortunately don't photograph all that well.

Also nice is the contrasting red stitching on the doors, seats and dash.

Not best in class rear seat space but plenty enough. My 6ft 4in friend had enough leg room (with a 6 footer sitting up front) and was the only one to have his head touch the ceiling.

It was kind of hard getting a good close-up of the touch screen.

The stereo has satellite radio capability as well as a 30GB hard drive. Strangely, no navigation. Avengers with navigation have the same head unit... I'm going to research if I can add the navigation feature.

The climate controls are plain to look at but are easy to figure out. Also, here's what the Autostick shifter looks like.

Another (somewhat blurry) guage pic.

Power moonroof... another nice feature.
