Seems like not too many people are doing systems in MINI Coopers! Wel here's my part. Let me know what you think!

Here she is! My 2003 Velvet Red MINI Cooper.
I do car stereo installations part time at Rock Dreams in Hamilton NJ so i have the luxury of a nice shop to work in and great equipment for cost.
Setting out to do this job I knew it had to be functional cause this car has little to no cargo space as it is. A single 10 is all that i could afford to fit in there and something had to be done with the amp to save space as well.
I'm not one for bells and whistles and moving images, i prefer sound quality over looks and build quality over features.
I choose a Clarion DXZ835MP for my headunit for a couple reasons. I have been a big Clarion fan for many years and i find that they have an extremely low defective rate (although now that i think of it, i had to send this in for repair because this was DOA!) I also choose this because the display could match my dash and the face has some chrome buttoms that atch the MINI decor pretty nicely too.
The amplifier had to be pretty compact, I ended up using an Eclipse 5Channel amp which is giving me 50x4 and 280x1. I also went with Eclipse 6.5 components and pointsource 6x9's. We just started carrying Eclipse so I had to give the stuff a try. The sub is a 10 inch Infinity perfect DVQ mounted in an Element enclosure. It's a bummer that Element went out of business, they made the best box hands down and unfortunatly with so many subs coming in and out of my enclosure it's produces a crack :(
Well... on with the install!
