Project "Eleanor" SOLD. Thank you all for the compliments and suggestions. It was fun, but it's all Carroll Shelby's fault why i had to sell her. Look for Project Eleanor 2, in the next few years, from a 2007 Shebly Cobra GT500

Project "Eleanor"
Most Mustang enthusiast's have probably seen the modern Remake of the movie "Gone in 60 seconds". Most also probably fell in love with the GT500 at the end of the movie "Eleanor". The car became an instant hit with car enthusiast all over the world. The car was so popular in fact, that Carol Shelby sanctioned the car to be built by http://www.sanderson sales.com. You can now purchase three different models, the lowest starting at $80K. Since thats out of reach for me, im doing the next best thing. Making my own. Ive started with the fastest production Mustang ever built;the 2003 Mustang Cobra. The most important thing about the car to begin with is the color. The car doesnt need to be painted, being within almost the exact shade of "Eleanor". The rest was just parts research.
and hence Project "Eleanor" has begun....

Shelby Stripes
Well now here are some of the close to Final pics of "Eleanor" I was going to use the 3M for the stripes, but had problems with them, so instead they were painted on, flat black. The side stripes howeever, are 3M and looks just as good.

Shelby Style Eleanor Scoops
JMSPRODUCTSINC.COMhttp://www.jmsproductsinc.com. Those who have seen his add in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, will also see my car on his website. The scoops are finally done. This single part definately changes the whole look of the car. Many people have said the same thing. This product is one of a kind and is looking hot!!!!

Eleanor Emblems
I had to of course have the "Eleanor" emblems, but it took me awhile to finally find it. I could never find out, because there were never really any good close up pictures. I had to search and search the emblems, and i eventually found one that looked the right shape. With a little more reasearch i found out that these were indeed the emblems used in the movie. Any Mustang person who knows their stuff will know that on the orginial GT500 the emblems were reversed. The emblems i have on my side, were actually on the back, and vice versa. "Eleanor" switced them. And a good switch it was i think.(P.S. thats not dirt in the right picture. Thats the 3D paint from ford, brought out by a few coats of Zaino)

Other Eleanor Parts
There are still a few more things that i had to purchase to make it "Eleanor". I purchased(not installed yet), the original PIAA foglights used in the movie(see pictures above of Eleanor, large lights in center valence). I have hood pins that will be installed. I also have the JMSproducts upper and lower grill. I also am ordering the rims that were used on the car. You will probably recognize these rims as they are most often seen on another Shelby car...The A/C Cobra. Mostly the replicas.http://www.team3wheels.com/ac/

Brief 2003 Cobra Bio:
Lets face it, you cant do this kind of car to just anything. It has to be one bad ass Ford. Well thanks to Ford. They did it in 2003 with the addition of Supercharger,Intercooler, Forged Internals, 3.55 gears, 6spd Tranny, and a host of other stuff. Good enough to make it the fastest production Mustang ever built, propelling it to about 12.7 1/4 at @ 112(Most Mustang mags, get around 12.6 pure stock, and car and driver cranked a 12.9, so i would guess somewhere in the middle). Thats not the best thing. The best thing is how easy it is to Mod. With simply a Bassani Cat-back, Bassani X-pipe, and C&L MAF....400rwhp/382rwtq. That doesnt even include the Bassani Headers that i installed later. And the amazing thing is...I still have my warranty. These cars are amazing. For $400 dollars you can purchase a chip/pulley combo that will give you car an EASY 100 HP/TQ. SO for less than $2000, you can put these close to 500 Rear Wheel Horepower and Torque! These cars are very easy to get into the low 11's with simple basic modifications.(Of course the driver is a big thing too)

Interior
Well I simply just cant ignore the inside. I have to make this just as nice as the outside. I started with http://www.mgwltd.com. He simply has the best interior pieces available for late model mustangs. I started by getting the Satin not chrome(matches seat pseudo suede inserts) AC knobs, radio button, e-brake handle, headlight switch, turn signal knob, tilt steering handle, door pins, SVT coat hangers, SVT lighter. Chrome oil cap, chrome oil dipstick. Polished Cobra fuel door. Ive installed the Steeda chrome radiator cover.
I also plan to paint the door jams to match the satin silver interior theme.
As you can see in the picture on the right, added the Mach 1 Radio/Shifter silver bezel. I wasnt happy with the Mach One shifter boot, because its not real leather. I simply removed my stock Cobra one, and epoxied(sp?) the leather one on. I think the other one is like vinyl or something.

Stereo
Well, even the box system i had didnt last long as you can see. Below are the pics with the box set up and amp delete, and right above are the new pictures of the new stereo. The kit was made by Danny Edwards. As you can see on the top left picture, you can cover the speakers with a grill surrounded by the cloth if you wish to utilize your trunk space. If you're in the DC Metro area contact me at email if you'd like him to consider doing work for you.

Other
Other various things i will do. Im going to put dash plaques in the car, and all over when i get my build number. This is going to be mainly a "Show" car, but im certainly not afraid about testing that "acceleration" from time to time.

For any doubters about how much power shes putting out. Time to put it to rest....400rwhp/382rwtq. Translates to 467 at the flywheel with 17%drivetrain loss.

That's a sweet ride you've created. I think it means so much more when you build something the way you want it and make it "yours". That's what I did with my '00 GT/added the parts I liked or that were proven rather than just picking up this kit or that. Interesting that our dyno sheets are nearly identical. I pulled 397.9 rwhp and 404.4 ftlb torque with nearly the same curve as your 4V. Anyway, sweet ride you have there!

I really like your stang. I'd like to see more tributes to the classic style mustangs. You've done that quite well. Come check mine out, I've got the stripes too.
