01.1.2004 - Project "Fireproof" kicks off!!
2005 is here and "Project Fireproof" is still rolling strong. If you've visited my page before you know that I had waited a LONG, LONG time to begin on my exterior mods. Now, the Skyjacker install is behind me and the tires and wheels are finally on this bad boy! It's off to take on some of the more cosmetic mods to make this thing look really awesome. 2005 has some cool new mods in store so watch for updated pics shortly. Check out the mod list to see the updates that I'll be doing in the next few months. I just ordered my Hanson Enterprise 52" Rubicon front bumper which will be powdercoated white to match the Jeep's paint job. I plan to follow-up that bad boy with some custom N-Fab nerf bars and a rear bumper. Stay tuned!!!
Lately, I've been catching "Hell"...(no pun intended) for having a statement of my faith and using a recognizable logo as my mascot so I figure I better get the explaining out of the way right up front. Hopefully by doing so, it might deter some of the juveniles from cluttering up my guestbook.
"Why FireProof...what's the name all about, and why a Spitfire Skateboarding Logo as your mascot?" Well, believe it or not, it's a Christian thing. You see...as a Christian, I feel that to claim myself as "Fireproof" is a statement of faith in what Jesus' death means to not only myself, but to every believer.
The Spitfire logo is also pretty simple. It just seemed to have the right attitude for the project. No, I'm not a skater...just loved the logo.
Okay, now that the name and logo have been explained, we can get onto some serious Jeep business...
General Info:
My Jeep Wrangler is a 1998 model TJ that I've had since the Spring of that year. With the Jeep finally paid off, my money was freed up to do some more important things...TRICK IT OUT!
From the Mod List below you can see that I've started a LOT of work on it in the past few months.
In 2003 I completely reworked the whole interior of the Jeep See Page 2
I went from the stock color of grey mist (light grey) to agate (dark charcoal). I stripped out everything down to the metal, repainted the roll bar and around the front windshield black and gutted the carpet and dash starting from scratch with all new components. I either replaced or painted everything. You can't tell that this Jeep was ever any other color besides the color that it is now.
With the interior out of the way, 2004 meant getting to the fun stuff...the exterior. I installed the Skyjacker 8" Rock Ready Kit in February (with the help of some friends) See Page 4.
With the lift kit knocked out and the biggest chunk of my investment handled, now it's time for some more cosmetic upgrades. What is a Jeep without some radical bumpers, nerf bars, a winch, some lights and a HUGE rear tire mounted on the back?
2005 will bring just that....Watch for more updated pics really soon!!
