7: 94/95 Mustang Stuff

Okay people due to a high volume of questions I will be posting the answers to the most frequently asked questions I get about the 94/95 Mustangs.

Q. What do I need to put a 351 in my Mustang?
A. There are a couple of things needed.
1: 351 Oil Pan for 5.0 mustang's from Summit Racing $139.00 This oil pan fits the 351W in the Mustang Chasis.
2: 351 Lower Intake, the 351 is 2 inches wider and thus requires a wider lower intake. An upper intake depends on what brand you go with and whether it will bolt up to the lower.
3: Headers, 351 swap headers OR Mac 1 3/4in longtube headers from a fox body fit with a little hammer work :). In turn the H-Pipe will need to be cut and the H in the pipe widened because the headers will be a few inches off from fitting the 302 H-Pipe.
4: Fuel Rail requires the rubber hoses to be cut off and high pressure 3/8 fuel line installed so the fuel rails can fit the wider intake.
5: 351 Distributor from a 94/95 Ford Lightning, Advanced auto $97
6: 2in Longer belt than the factory 302 belt.
7: 28.2oz Flywheel and Balancer
8: Radiator, 351 needs better cooling, it WILL overheat without a better radiator.
9: Fan Mod, wire up the electric fans to run 100% of the time for cooling.
10: Cowl Hood, 351 is 1 1/2 to 2 inches taller than the 302 and WILL need a new hood.
11: 351 heads or aftermarket heads. Your 302 heads will NOT fit because of the bolt hole size. The 351 has 7/16 head bolts as compared to the 3/8 bolts the 302 has.
12: Larger injectors and TB and MAF etc. depending on HP levels.
13: Notch the battery tray because the Powersteering pump hits it due to the engine being wider.

Q. What do I need to convert my Auto to a Manual?
A. You need the following items.
1: Manual Shifter boot
2: Manual Transmission for a 94/95 car!
3: Clutch Pedal assembly from any 94-98 Mustang V6 or V8.
4: Clutch quadrant and cable.
5: Wiring harness from 94-98 V6 or V8 manual car. The wiring is the transmission wiring connecting from the passenger side firewall down to the tranny.
6: 50oz Flywheel and clutch
7: T4M0 Computer for a manual car. The computer for an AODE car will NOT run right, the car will buck and miss when the computer is trying to shift an auto that is not there.
8: Driveshaft for a Manual Car. The auto driveshaft will work however it has a counterbalance on it that is not on the Manual driveshaft.

More to come....

hey, i'm looking to do true duals on my 94 formula (LT1), and was gonna go with some dynomax bullets straight off the headers and out the sides, and found your sound clip on ls1sounds.com, where it says you have no cats, but i see cats on here. if you dont have cats, then is that what it sounds like in that clip, or is that with the cats on? I just dont want that raspy sound i have with the loudmouth anymore with no cats. thanks.

That T/A is awsome! 305 hp is pretty good, but you need some slips and dyno tests w/ the cam and heads, good luck w/ your car!
