Windsheild Top Trim ReplacementI finally got around to replacing the top windsheild trim on the limo. It looked like crap, dry rot, cracking, pieces falling off. I was a little afraid to do this because I didn't want to crack my windshield or break a plastic trim piece. The good news is this is an easy job!First remove the side trim pieces. Just work them up with your finger tips from the glass side. They pull out straight out away from the carThen remove the old top trim piece. Pull it out by hand starting at one end. It has a metal U-channel in it with the open end of the U facing the top of the windshield. Twist the trim piece as you pull it out to let the U channel come out of the groove.Clean out the groove. Here is the new trim piece from the dealer. Use hand soap to lube the lower rubber parts to help them slip into the groove. There is a notch at the center of the trim piece, line it up with the center of the windshield. Get the center started- then check both ends to see if it looks ok. If it looks good work it into the groove. Once it's in the groove make final adjustments and reinstall the side trim pieces. The side trim pieces were harder to reinstall than the top piece. Use hand soap in the groove and on the edge of the windshield.
