Well I havent updated my site since may 2005. Since then I attended quite a few shows until july 24th when Darknights was the last show I attended for the season. After that day I've been working on the car here and there trying to get her ready for next season. I have gotten rid of the blue and white and now I am going black and blue, with alot of the black being carbon fiber that I've been doing myself.
these are process work pictures and the new 2006 look. The black and blue is more aggressive and that is what I want to achieve in the upcoming show season. The exterior will be startedin about a week Jan 1st or so, and will be completely changed as well. The car will look like a whole new car, but done with more taste and custom work.
The interior is still a work in progress. I plan on finishing it by the end of February 2006.
As you can tell, I've basically sold off and bought all new parts for the car. hood, headlights, rims, steering wheel, racing seats. Changing the interior and audio set up, and hopefully some exterior work will begin soon too.
Interior is still being worked on, a quick pic to show you the work I've been up to. I moved the gauge cluster into the middle of the dash, with a tv on each side of it. I also connected the center console to the dash so it is now one large piece.
Process work of the door panels. I added carbon fiber on the top portion of the panel to flow with the dashboard. After laying the c/f down and coating it with the epoxy resin, I used filler all around the c/f so I could sand and blend the c/f into the fiberglass panels for a smooth finish.
Images of the process of the rear seat set up. I first made my boxes from MDF wood, I then covered the area with duct tape so I could make a fiberglass mold of the enclosure. Once that was cured, I popped the mold of the duct tape and I began to sand it, add filler and sand some more. I am getting closer to completion now (i'll get an updated pic by the end of the week (feb 4th)).
