Page One Nice and shiny ! I picked this car up last year with 71,000 miles on the clock. 1 Year later (4/7/04) it has 110,000 miles. You can't help but drive it. Except for a couple of infamous 'GM' paint flake the exterior is perfect.
I saw your post about the VATS system. My 99 sedan deville reads "car may not restart" and "security system problem" ever since my remote unlock failed one day (with the keys inside) and I had a locksmith open the car. The alarm went off and ever since sometimes the car will not restart, says to wait 3 (then 2, 1) minutes. Sometimes it takes 1-2 hours. A couple of times I have been successful in getting the alarm to activate which resets the system and allows me to restart the car. The guy at the dealership says its my ignition and it will run about $500, but this doesn't make sense. It would seem that there would be some sort of a reset that would fix the problem. Thanks for any input.
