I created a great way to get the wire thru the firewall! I took a PVC pipe just a bit bigger than the wire and shoved it thru then ran the wire thru it and just left the short pipe thru to prevent any scuffing and possible short circuits caused by the metal cutting thru the insulation! Btw, mine is probably a smaller wire because I have a 500 watt kicker amp and sub and am going to be making a custom enclosure and redoing the inside of my trunk. Right now the sub is in an old speaker box made for a living room, ported and about 2 cubic feet so it actually sounds pretty good lol keep up the great work on your ride. It's looking better and better every time I check it out!
Hey again! Quick question. I'm currently working on a custom trunk and am installing a kicker subwoofer and amp. How and where did you get the red amp power wore through the firewall? Did you go they the side of the rubber grommet like I've seen done before of do you have to drill a hole? Please answer because it'd make my project go so much smoother! Thanks in advance! *nice new spoiler btw ;)
Truthfully, I just threw my system in there all crappy. The wires get closed in the door. When I got an alarm installed they ran it through the firewall where the huge harness wires come in. I'm actually working on my trunk kit too. I have 0 gauge wire that I'm going to use but I bet it will be really hard to get through the firewall without drilling a new hole. Problem is, there really is no place to make a hole without damaging the master cylinder. These things are real cramped under the hood! I'm waiting on a whole new brake system for all fours to come in so in the meantime I'll try to get that wire ran and let you know what's up. BTW the spoiler took 3 and a half months to get here and there is only one company in the universe that sells that exact rare 2006 only spoiler!
Funny thing is those wires have been with me for close to 10 years and six different cars and it still powers for my amp.
I like what your doing with the custom wiring! I just recently made some custom wiring to allow my sunroof to open with my remote start key fob! Its pretty nice for hot days! I also designed my own wiring for my interior leds as well! Check out my ride soon! 5*s man!
thats a bad ass ride very nice 5*
