My latest project ('00 F-150 5.4L Triton)
Update: I've been terrible about putting new pics up. I've added a Alpine computerized amp control and flush mounted it in the armrest cupholder. Makes adjusting bass on the fly a breeze, and worked nice on multiple amps when I messed around with a 3 mono amp setup to 3 subs. It really hit nice, but I had to give up 2/3 of the back seat. I ended up putting it back to the way it was. Also added are a 6 disc changer, and a backup camera mounted just above the hitch, which I use all the time. Also got rid of the exposed tips, and dumped the exhaust up under the bed, just behind the diff. It looks cleaner, but I had to get rid of the spare. Not sure what good it would do anyways, since the jack wouldn't lift the truck anyways. Someday, I'll add some pics.
Recently added: I just put new tires on. The Pro Comps were really pissing me off, and I suspected that was the source of my high speed wobble. Didn't want to admit it, since they had like 5000 miles on them, but sure enough, a was the tires! I went with more expensive (but worth it) set of BFG Mud-Terrain's and all is well. It rides like it should, and there is a lot less noise than I'd expected. The thicker side wall really helps on a tall tire. They look so much better on the truck anyways. Now I suppose I need to take more pictures.
New pics are up, but they could be better. The overcast sucked, but it was about to rain, and I figured I'd get pictures while I could. It does show the trucks new look though.
Newer, but not brand new: 4:56 gears, Posi, Rancho steering stabilizer, Mag Hytec rear diff cover, Add-a-leaf springs, new custom driveshaft, Optima red top, XM receiver, and I replaced my bolt-over billet grill with a cut-out. I also ditched the Rockford sub, for a Boston. Well worth the money!
My '99 Z-28 (summer car)
My '01 Tahoe (on 20's) with some new pics!
My boat install, on page 5. (Hey, it's DC powered audio, right?)
She's just been lifted. I finally got her cleaned up, for some decent pics! The last out of place photo was after I'd got the last piece of rocker panel cover off. Don't put them on, unless you are absolutely sure you want to keep them! It took me several careful hours to get them off, without taking paint with them.
White face NR Gauge Face. Was kind of a pain to install, but it looks pretty good. Gives a cool glow at night, too. Pioneer 6.5 inch DVD, with iPod attached to the input module. Thought about a PS2 or Xbox, but I hardly use them at home, let alone in the car.
Here is the iPod, I decided to stash in the sunglass holder. It holds 2000+ songs, so that leaves me with room for only 1000 more to put on there. You can't see it in the pics, but it is hardwired. No FM transmitting crap, because even though it's easier, it sounds terrible.
This caught my eye. I just thought it would make a cool picture. And a terrible low light picture of the XM module. The useless jack that sat under the passenger seat is now in the bed. I don't even know why it's there, because I doubt it would be able to lift my truck high enough anyway. Mental note to put a bag of fix-a-flats back there instead.
Mods:
-6" FabTech suspension lift (complete kit)
-K&N induction kit
-Glass packs (I'm shopping around for a muffler that will put out a boomier sound.)
-Rolled tips (I like these a lot. They look much cleaner than the non-rolled. Had to swap the old tips out for rolled, on the Tahoe as well).
-Superchip programmer (I'm still unsure about true HP gains, but it definately made a difference in the way the truck drives. The shifts are much more deliberate now, and I don't think I could go back to the stock shift map.)
-Ceramic composite, front brake pads. (Quiter and more grabby. All four corners have been done, pad, rotor, and calipers)
Lighting:
-PIAA Extreme headlight bulbs (These are kinda spendy for just bulbs, but worth it. They are so much brighter, and whiter than the stock bulbs, I wish I had a before and after. They actually prompted me to shop for new fog lights, because they made the stockers look yellow)
-PIAA front air damn (I found that nobody made a replacement fixture for the F-150, at least not that I could find. I needed one to accomodate an Extreme H3 bulb, to match the new headlamp bulbs. So, I went with the new air damn, and that way I could pick my light!)
-PIAA 40 round off-road (Simple, yet effective. The PIAA Extreme H3 bulbs obviously fit, and the price wasn't too bad. The light blew that away of my 65watt [simulated output is said to be a lot more than that] high beams, in my stock headlamps. Not bad for 55 watts, but so much for a match. The cool thing is that they are legal, but they sure don't look like it. I almost feel bad, when I run them.)
Wheels and tires:
-Ultra wheels 16"
-Pro Comp All-terrain [315/75-16] (After the lift, I had to go with a different brand, since Bridgestone doesn't make a Dueler in the size I wanted. So far, I like them. Not as cool looking as the Mud Terrain's, but she's going to get lifted more, when these tires need replacement!)
Audio:
Head unit: Pioneer AVH-P6500 DVD, 6.5 inch DVD with Nav, XM, Changer, Back-up camera inputs.
Amps: Alpine MRD-500 (581.4w @ 2ohms), Alpine MRV-F340 (60.8 x 4 @ 4 ohms)
Speakers: Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 (6.5 inch components, front), Infinity Kappa 572.5cf (5x7 rear, with pivoting tweeter)
Sub: Boston Acoustics Pro Series 10.5LF (This replacement works excellent for my app. Very tight space, great range, rattles mirrors but not pavement. It's a lonely 10!")
Power: 4 gauge Monster, run through an 80amp RF fuse holder. (I don't like the fuse holders, and would much rather use a circuit breaker, but it hasn't bothered me enough to replace it.)
Cables: Monster Interlink 401's, and 16 gauge heavy shield Radio Shack speaker cable (as on my other installs, I still like the wire).
