Well here's how I came to end up getting the 2003 PT Cruiser Dream Cruiser Series 2 Turbo that I own now.I had bought a 2002 Dream Cruiser Series 1 on March 22 of 2003 at a *BIG* discount. I loved the car, and it drew a lot of looks with the Inca Gold paint. On my way to work on the morning of April 16th, I'm in the lane closest to the shoulder on an undivided Hwy.This jerkoff in a Toyota in the lane to my left decides he's going to pass the guy in front of him by passing him on the right, which is my lane.So he changes lanes and apparently didn't notice I was right next to him, so I jerk the wheel to avoid him, I get on the grass shoulder, which is sloped away from the road.I don't hit the brakes because wet grass at that speed might as well be ice, but I just try and stay on the grass. The rear of the car slides down the slope of the shoulder, and then the car juts back up onto the road, now at about a 45 degree angle to the road, and shoots across 3 lanes into oncoming traffic.Coming the opposite direction is a Toyota Tundra with a man and his wife in the process of moving a bunch of their personal belongings. They can't avoid me, and we hit head-on, nearly dead-center of my grill. My car spins at least one full time, but I can't recall, and his goes into the ditch. When I came to rest, I was still awake and alert, and noticed that both bags had deployed.I tried to open the door, but it was jammed.I tried to get out the back, but the dash had rolled on top of me trapping my right foot (which was snapped in two).So I actually felt pretty good and looked around for my damn ciggarrettes while I waited for the Cavalry, and I finally found the ciggs, but my lighter was MIA (PTs don't come with a cigg lighter). SO anywho, the cops and everyone else gets there, they use some hydrualic jaws-of-life deal to cut the door open and push the dash off of me, and I get out.I lay on a gurnie, and that's when I felt what it was like to have a collapsed lung! It's pretty much like when you're a little kid and you fall off the Monkey bars and knock the wind out of you, but you never catch your breath. So to make a long story short, they drove me to the local ER, which is not equipped for Trauma, then they all freaked out doing their auditions for the show 'ER', then they stuck me on a helicopter and away I went to Atlanta. I ended up in the hospital for 11 days, 7 of which I was in ICU, and 4 of those in a drug-induced coma (my lung re-collapsed while I was there).I was out of work for two months, and in addition to the collapsed lung and broken right foot, I had several cracked ribs, a cracked sternum, a punctured spleen, and I nearly severed my left hand, which I spent the next 6 months picking slivers of glass out of.
OK, so enough talk, here's a few pics:
