Hey, it's been forever since I've updated this page, since I have I've gotten 15s (because they were really cheap), and a new headunit.. The wheels are Prime model 141, 15" with Falken ZIEX 512 195/50/15. I love these tires so much, they're SO sticky. Have yet to try them in the rain though, since it hasnt rained in like a month and a half since I put them on (figures, it was raining every single day before that)
There really isnt much to see, the car is pretty much stock.. Its got a 1.3L 4cyl putting out around 80hp, weighing 1700lbs (stock figures), and I've averaged 38mpg on my past 4 tanks.
This is my 1998 Suzuki Swift... Its a 5spd, and its got 83,000km on it.. I bought it in mid-summer 2003 with 64,000km on the clock. I originally wanted to buy something like a Civic hatchback or something, but after looking around and finding this car for half the price of any Civic I could find that was in the same general condition, I ended up buying this.
I was once planning on just tossing this car as soon as I could afford something better, but I've decided to stick it through.. It seems like everyone hates these cars for pretty much NO reason.. But then again, anyone who hates on them has never even driven one, so whatever.
All I've done to the car is put in new Sylvania brand ultra-white headlights I found at Canadian Tire. As anyone with these cars knows, the stock bulbs really dont put out very much light. These made a considerable improvement. Unfortunately I couldnt get any before or after pics comparing the two, but my digital camera battery was dead when I did it, so you're going to have to take my word for it.
Thanks to the previous owner, it came with a Sony CD headunit, Eclipse 5.25" speakers in the front doors, and Clarion 5.25" speakers in the sides by the back seats. Now I've taken out the Sony headunit and put in a new Panasonic one (the one thats 250-350USDish in the stores, got it for just over $150 last boxing day)
I put in a Lightning Audio 12" sub and amp. They came as a package deal for fairly cheap (which is why I considered Lightning Audio in the first place). The sub and amp are both 150watts, not much, but in a car this size, enough to provide just enough boom.
As far as my plans for this car now, I don't want to go too far because I'm such a poor student :-( but I'll be getting a new intake/exhaust eventually, and sound deadening for the stereo (so my damn bumper supports stop rattling with the bass), and then maybe another amp/sub and then power my Eclipses in the front off of the amp I have now.. But before any of that, I'm getting the windows tinted..
