Plain Jane is a 1965 Mustang Coupe (what Carroll Shelby called a 'secretary's car'). She is a rotisserie restoration with modern drivetrain. She has a Heidts M2 front end, Explorer rear-end (3.73 Trac-Lock), 4-wheel disc brakes, fully-connected subframes, A/C, and a 4.6L DOHC engine.
She is lots of fun and gets a lot of attention at cruise-ins and car shows (but only when the hood's up, for some reason).

Nothing to raise suspicions except this little emblem.

Every time I fill up it's 'I had a . . . who had one just like it'. But when I open the hood it's 'Oh @&#*!'

Plain Jane has 10.5:1 compression, forged bottom end, intercooled Eaton blower (10 lb. boost), and burns E85. The Nitto 555R drag radials barely hold on in 2nd gear. ~550 HP in a 3100 lb car is more than enough (but then, there's never enough!).
I did all the work myself, except for the engine machine work, spraying the paint, and hanging the exhaust (though I did replace the mufflers 3 times before I found the right ones). I did, however, do a lot of things more that once! (It's an expensive way to get an education.)
Plain Jane was featured in the December 2010 edition of StreetScene (a nice 3-page spread), the offical magazine of the National Street Rod Association.
