INTERIOR MODSThe goal, modify the 5.9's interior using 2003 BMW 745i comfort seating, 745i center console, and fabricate a wiring harness to the power seats, seat memory module, and seat heating features (shoould work because the 5.9 has heated seats). Upgrade the audio system from half DIN to double DIN. Upgrade amplifier, speakers, add sound dampening and new carpet.Audio System:Head unit: Pioneer AVIC Z110BT The Pioneer Flagship AVIC-Z110BT has a strong core feature set that includes GPS navigation, multimedia and DVD playback, IPod/iPhone touch screen control, and Bluetooth hands-free calling. However, it's the secondary features such as auto importing of contacts, voice control of most major functions, and MSN Direct upgradability that make the Z110BT stand above the competition...This is one bad ass unit! The 5.9's radio bay had to be modified from 1.5 DIN to double DIN. After cuting everything out, there was room for days! Only problem, there wasn't anything there to attach the radio to. Problem solved, I used the Pioneer ADTVA133 Double Din Installation Kit to provide a good solid installation. I also installed the HD Radio and the PAC SWI-PS Steering Wheel Control Interface...it works!
This is what the install looks like. I'm working on the bezel. There is about a 1/2 inch gap on each side of the head unit. The bezel opening for the radio had to be cut on the top and bottom to accommodate this head unit. I will fill the sides in with kitty hair, sand and paint it black. The top and bottom of the bezel looks ok. The final should look factory. The head unit sticks out just enough to allow the face of the unit to open and close properly. I was able to maintain the air ducts...it gets cold out here and I need my heat.
