Welcome to my Hatch's cardomain page!Updates:July,18th,2012This car has been a long time in the making, and is almost complete! I started buying parts for it while I was deployed to Iraq. I managed to build up a pretty large parts list, and nothing but qaulity. I am very proud of this build, and can't wait till the night I am dropping the engine back in! Which should be very soon, I have all the parts I need, I am just waiting on a tool. I'll update with loads of pics and information soon.July,20th,2012I rearanged my page. And I am in the process of uploading new pictures now. I just got to add them to the page once there all uploaded. It's mostly engine parts, and pictures from pulling the engine.A little history:I bought this car while stanioned in Columbus, GA for the army. When I bought the car it already had some wheels, lip kit, paint, a beat up carbon fiber hood, window tint, side mirrors, sterring wheel, and a subwoofer. Nothing was done to the engine, the previous owner was all about cosmetics. When I bought it I imedietly started making a list of parts I wanted to purchase. I was about to get deployed to Iraq, and knew I would be able to afford some nice parts. For the few months before getting deployed I just drove the car. I had a slight distributor problem, but replaced it, and was back on the road. While in Iraq my little brother watched over the car for me, and insured my parts got ordered. At first I was going to do a small build, small turbo, and low boost. I even considered buying an S2000, but friends quickly ensured me that building the hatch was what I needed to do. I asked them if a JDM DOHC swap was a better idea, or just using my D15? We decided a built SOHC would be a little more head turning, and I quickly started ordering parts. The idea to do a small build left me with a tiny, poor qauility turbo, and I replaced it with a Precision Turbo 67. trim, twin scroll, and dual ball bearing turbo. I then replaced the kits blow off valve with a HKS SSQ, and the need to have name brands parts began. Once I had everything I needed I decided I would try and have the car built and ready to go when I got back. This was the worst idea I had ever had. It went to a shop in Indianapolis, IN, and it was terrible service. We could never get ahold of them, and whenever someone would try and drop by, no one was there. I was in Iraq when all of this got started, and to me it seemed to be going smooth, but the closer I got to coming home, the farther and farther the shop pushed back the deadline. I finally got home, and they were still nowhere near done. I was able to visit a few time when I came home on leave from GA, and it never seemed like much was being done. They finally got the engine back in the car, and I decided to go get it. We got the car, and took it to my dad's in Bloomington, IN. We atempted to get the car tuned, and found out the wrong pistons were bought, ordered, and installed. This meant I now had to pull it all back apart, and buy some new parts. Now being back home, I have rented a place in Bedford, IN and am rebuilding the engine, and fixing all the half assed things the shop did. I have all the new engine internals, and have the engine pulled. The D15 block that was bored .50 over and had the 12:1 compresson pistons was traded for Eagle H-Beam rods and Kings bearings. I also purchased Wiseco 8.5:1 pistons. These new parts are going in a D16 block, and I am using stock bore. The same VTEC Z6 head will be used from the first atempt though. It has a port and polish, and is fully built with forged parts and a crower turbo cam. I will update with more history on my car as it is made!
