Engine finally secured between the towers...
But all the custom re-wiring and bracketry takes some time...
300000KM on the clock and just a burnt valve!
The 1 inch wheel spacer with APV brakes
Mid-August, the car drives out the garage
Stock hood 'cowl inducted'!! still in rough stage...
critical part
The V8's carb is a lot different from the Varajet II That the 660 had ; It was not set for a TH125 TV cable. I had to set that cable a couple of time before getting it right.
The difference is; instant tire chirp at the tip of the throttle and no slip until second gear. Before adjusting it ; I tought my good trans was bad because of slippage!!
The purple tube wrapped with electrical tape is my temporary adjustment...
Have you noticed the 4.1 stamping on the intake??? NOOOO I got screwed!!!!! Of course not!! The '86 Deville came with the 4.1, but was replaced with a 'TARGETMASTER' 4.5 liter engine.
Back on page 7, the pictures showing the block proves the 4.5/4.9 heritage. 4.1 ribs on the casting are different.
My 4.5 was dressed with '86 parts on it,including nice steel manifold...
Scratch Parts...
The air filter was made using an '87 MPFI celebrity air filter box base and it's filter ; the round attachements were made from scrap parts that were laying around...0.00$!!!
