The V8 swap
This is a low mile old crate engine from GM removed off an '86 Deville. It has a couple of years of age, but the Caddy has'nt moved much since it's engine been changed.
The engine was already converted to carburator and it's distributor internals modified by the previous owner who was supposed to drop it in a fiero, but had a luck he could'nt passed off for an old Porsche, he sold the un-touched fiero, and I got that 4.5 V8 for 300$!
This is far from being the mighty PFI 4.9, but compared to the 112hp-135lb\pd 173cu.in. V6 it's gonna replace;
155hp-240 lb\pd and 273 cu.in. of V8 power should please me pretty well!
The stock TH125 3 speed auto bolted to the V8 as easy as on the 2.8. It will be handling the power with no probs.
Yes, it's an ugly and small carb,but for now it will stay there... Holley four barrel next season...
Cradle straps X-II style from... Lumina APV...
Super heavy duty front engine bracket made from half inch thick steel plates,atop Energy Suspension polyurethane gm RWD trans mount. and custom brace at the tip of the trans.
The notch for the starter is my next step...damn bracket is much closer than the manual trans I saw from the Fiero swappers...should be OK...
I can't wait to shut down my custom cowl induction hood over this nice piece of aluminum!!!
MORE PICS ON THE WAY SOON ENOUGH!!

For those sharp eyes A-body owners, note the stance with the rear 1 inch wheel spacers!! Installed between the axle and drum backing plates!! APV stiff coils springs prevents the tires to rub the quarters...
