The time has come for me to sell my baby. It's a 2000 E39 540i M Sport. It is beautiful anthracite metallic, complimented with shadow trim, with OEM M5 wheels (the original 540i wheels are included, as well). The headlights have been updated to Angel-Eyes and white corners from the 2003 e39 model (imported from Germany). Note: these headlights are not the after market 'DEPO' that haze and fade but the original 'Hella'.
The interior has had a few upgrades in the right places (Short 6-Speed M Shift Knob, M E-Brake Handle, Chrome Speedometer Rings, M Brushed Aluminum Pedals, and Chrome Door Pins). This is the true M sport version that comes from the factory with Bucket Leather Seats, M Steering Wheel, M Shift Knob, Sport Suspension and Staggered 'Deep-Dish' Wheels.
This fabulous 540i has been a respected and pampered family member. I am the second owner and personally bought it out of California. I had it professionally trucked to New York State from its original California home. It has a very well-documented and complete service history. The car has 163K miles. DO NOT let the miles scare you because this car's service records are astonishing. A well taken care of car like this will last you a very long time. It is truly one of the few out there with such extreme preventative maintenance. During my 15 years working on cars I've had the opportunity to work on quite few BMWs that are in 300K mark and I must say that sometimes more problems are found on garage queens, then on the ones that have been driven.
Note: the vehicle was never meant to be sold therefore I never spared a dime in maintenance. With $5,226.50 invested in parts and upgrades over the last year, I have gotten her back to her peak performance.
About me: I'm a certified technician (certified and/or graduated through Opel in Germany) with experience total of 15 years (6 years as a full time technician working for Opel in Germany and 9 years as an enthusiast in the USA part time diagnosing and repairing cars as the time permits on daily basis). I also consider myself a BMW fanatic. I have proudly owned five BMWs, and love this car, but the time has come for me to pursue my dream car, an E39 M5.
