Project Red White and BlueINTROThis page is the chronicling build of a frame off restoration of a 1956 Desoto Firedome Seville 2 door hardtop. The work has been primarily been done by Tod, a retired safety/industrial engineer, as well as lots of hands on help from his son Keith and even sometimes help from his wife Georgann and daughter Rachael. Countless painful hours have been lovingly (and hating lol) have been poured into this project. After nearly 11 years, working physically only a handful of months, it is entering the reassembly stage. The project name comes from the final color scheme of the car with the bright red attention grabbing 1996 Dodge Viper V10 under the hood and an exterior composed of Viper Blue and white diamond pearl (aka 2010 Cadillac CTS white pearl). There was a 4 door donor/parts car but that has long been cut up. The donor car supplied the entire front clip, including inner fender wells as well as the lower section of the trunk and tail lights and some other miscellaneous parts.A 2000 Dodge Dakota front end welded and fishplated to the frame of the donor car. A big thanks goes out to Chrysler personnel and some other companies that have helped us along the way! It has truly been a massive scavenger hunt to find parts that will work for this build. It has not been easy!
